Princess Emery,
Today you are 12 weeks old and what a big girl you are quickly becoming! I am so proud of you, but I sure wish you weren't growing quite this fast! Everyone that sees you just goes on and on about how adorable you are and we couldn't agree more. Our only problem is that your face is so adorably cute, that it never fails that someone wants to touch your sweet, chubby cheeks. UGH! I swear (except that with the whole new year I'm really trying not to) that I'm going to put a huge sign next to you that reads, "Please remember that I'm still too little for your big germs." Or something like that! ;o)
We pulled out your big brother's old bum.bo seat this weekend and you had no problems sitting in it. I'll admit, you looked adorable. Do I say that too much? That you look adorable? Anyway, you did a great job sitting there and of course your big brother had to demonstrate how he could still fit in it as well. He is a hoot. You think he's hilarious and he certainly loves to entertain you!
You have also discovered your hands this week! You are batting at the things that hang from your bouncers, but you can't quite grasp them yet. I think it's coming fast though! You love to hold our hands while you are taking your bottle and grip them as tight as you can. Speaking of bottles and feeding, today is my last day of pumping. My supply has gone down drastically since going back to work and I'm just not getting very much anymore. In the ideal world we would have been exclusively breastfeeding, but we all know the world is far from ideal! I will let you keep nursing as long as you want and we'll just see what happens. I know you'll be just fine either way! I'm proud we made it to 12 weeks no matter what.
I talked to Dr. Q today about your spitting up. I am not kidding when I say we can go through five bibs in five minutes, I think you are going for a record! She feels that you are starting to use your stomach muscles more and that is probably the culprit for the spit up. We went over a few options and have decided that we'll just deal with it. You'll outgrow it eventually and who cares if we smell like baby juice all the time! I wouldn't trade it for the world!
We love you Little Princess!
~Mommy
