Super fast lightning speed update

Surgery went well although she had a very difficult time with the anesthesia. It was a long day. Did great yesterday, horrible night last night, started barking like a seal early this morning, then threw up all over the two of us. I knew the moment I heard her it was croup. Sure enough, after a trip to the pedi is looks like she picked up croup at the surgery center. She is now on a steroid since she just had her surgery in order to keep her from getting closed up and in the hospital. :o(

On the way to the pedi I decided to have Chase checked out too because I was pretty sure he had a sinus infection. I was right, he does. Antibiotics for him.

I'm already worn out and the day has a long way to go. Good times baby, good times.

*****I am grateful for
1) surgery was successful
2) surgery is over
3) steroids to help the princess from getting too much worse
4) antibiotics for the big big brother
5) pediatricians that are open on Saturday (even if it's not our location)

Surgery Day

We have to have the princess at the surgery center at 5:30 in the morning. I don't think she's going to be very happy with me. I know we've done this before, but I'm still nervous. The roads are supposed to be icy and it's going to feel like 14 degrees out. Not sounding like very much fun. Praying they don't cancel the surgery... again. Praying it goes smoothly and the recovery is easy for her. Please send prayers too. I will be glad when it's all over.

****I am grateful for
1) surgery can fix the ear infections
2) it's a fast surgery
3) so far the surgery has not been canceled
4) 12 hours from now we'll be back home
5) hump day, woohoo

I don't know if it just seems to be happening more or if I'm just more aware of it because I have kids, but it seems like I'm hearing so many stories about young children and cancer lately. Cancer absolutely terrifies me. These stories terrify me. They completely break my heart and I find myself crying for people I've never met and never will. I grieve for them like their child is my own. Children that are the age of mine. Children that have not even gotten a chance to live their lives yet. Oh how it scares me. Dear God, I am so thankful for the health of my family and am sending so many prayers to these families that are affected. Sometimes I think I take way too much for granted. I'm totally going to work on that!

****I am grateful for
1) T-Ball tryouts are over and Chase had fun
2) Emery's surgery going smoothly, because I know it will
3) no ear infections in the last two weeks!
4) my healthy family
5) prayers for those that I don't even know

P.S. Emery's tube surgery was canceled due to the severe weather conditions last Friday, she has been rescheduled for this Thursday, as in day after tomorrow. Send prayers please, I know it's minor and what to expect, but it still scares me. :o(

I thought I had learned what I needed to know...

Chase and Emery,

I thought I had learned what I needed to know. Then you burst into the world with your brilliant spirit and I realized I was just at the beginning.

I would totally love to take credit for this but I actually came across it tonight on the internet. So, so true, I have much to learn.

****I am grateful for
1) learning
2) the opportunities I've been given
3) heat
4) hump day is almost here!
5) brilliant spirits
