Look whose hair has gotten long enough to put in some little, itty bitty pigtails!!!!! Chase is in love with his little sister's hair and couldn't keep his hands off them. She, on the other hand, could have cared less about them. They weren't exactly even because she would much rather cook dinner on the play kitchen then have me mess with her hair, but they were cute! This having a girl stuff is fun in a whole different way!
***I am grateful for
1) little, itty bitty pigtails!

Look at her go!!
Emery has been taking little steps here and there, but last night she just went for it! I love how Chase coaches her along (yes, he's using a whoopie cushion) and then gets so excited when she makes it. He's such a good big brother!!! I also love how Molly is just sitting and watching, what a good girl. :o) This actually happened last night, but it was Chase's big day so I waited to share. What a big day it was in our house, Chase started kinder and Emery too her first real steps...
amazing!
****I am grateful for
1) my pretty blog and the new rotated header that was added in (you may have to reload until you see it, there are three different headers now)
2) first steps
3) big brothers that cheer little sisters along
4) excitement

It's official, Chase is a kindergartner!
Well it's official, Chase is a kindergartner!!!! Today was the first day of school and he did great. He got up without a fight and was ready to go in no time. Now that he's at my school he'll be going with me in the mornings, but since I had to be there early and get last minute things done, we chose to let him ride up with Daddy and Emery. He wasn't too thrilled, but he finally agreed to wait and come a little late. Turned out that he had his Daddy up there with him not 20 minutes after I got up there, can we say ready to go??
He did great when we walked him to class and the only time I got worried was when he looked up at me and asked, "Mommy, you ARE going to come get me when we are done, right?" Mrs. Moreno was right there and assured him that not only would I come and get him, but she would wait with him until I got there. They made it all OK. :o) It didn't hurt that Addison, from his class last year whose mom also teaches at my school, is in class! We said our goodbyes and were out the door in what seemed like no time at all. I barely even cried!!! *sniff sniff* He's my baby, what can I say?!??
I got to see him several times in the hall or when I walked by his class during the day and he always looked happy. He loves Mrs. Moreno and seems to have had a really good day. He was completely exhausted by this evening after his full day of school and karate and was asleep in less than five minutes once his head hit the pillow. Man how I love that little boy and I couldn't be a prouder Mommy!
Here are some pictures from our morning. We actually forget to get one with his teacher, but I'll snap it later. It's pretty easy since I work there!
Looking happy and ready to go (those are two of his friends behind him, Joey and Addison, whose head is cut out of the picture... oops)
1) a great first day in kinder!!!
2) great teachers
3) smiles at the end of the day
4) kindergarten... it's gonna be a great year!
5) my firstborn, I'm so very, very blessed!

11 years ago today I said, "I do" and married my Knight in Shining Armor that had saved me from a fate that was surely much worse than death. It hasn't been a perfect happily ever after, but it's been "our" happily ever after and even with all we've been through I wouldn't have had it any other way! I couldn't have handpicked a better husband or father, guess someone up there really knows what he's doing. I love you Jeff and that love only grows more with each passing day. Happy Anniversary Honey!

Simplification
Does anyone else ever feel like life is just getting too overwhelming and needs to be simplified? I've sure had that feeling quite a bit lately. Guess it's time to sit and do some thinking. Today was really not a very good day either, maybe that is what's putting me over the edge.
*** I am grateful for
1) I have *almost* survived the first full week back at work (although today has been one of those out of bed for this days)
2) tomorrow is Friday
3) Chase's super cute toothless smile

Guess who lost his first tooth tonight?!!?!
He is so excited and I'm excited for him!!! His two bottom teeth have been loose forever (since before his dentist appointment this last June) but have managed to stay in there. We've checked them just about every day and they have gotten a little looser each time. Well today he told us that one of them felt "really" loose. We've heard this before and told him that it was probably getting closer to coming out. Sure enough, tonight he worked on it and worked on it and out it came. There were some tears at one point, but by the end he was so happy. We are going to wait to put it under his pillow until tomorrow night so he can surprise his Memaw at work tomorrow and show her. He already called Duchess to let her know, because she is out of town.
So what's the going rate on teeth anyway? We told him the Tooth Fairy always pays extra for the first one. He is so sweet that he said he wants to put it towards the Disney Fund for next summer. I told him that he needed to put it in his piggy bank and that I'd match whatever the Tooth Fairy left and put it in the fund. Looks like I'm going to be out $30, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!!! Man I love this kid!!
****I am grateful for
1) new milestones
2) lost teeth
3) adorable missing teeth smiles
4) the excited in my little guy's eyes tonight
5) the Tooth Fairy

Princess Emery is 10 months old today!!!
Today you are 10 months old. I can't believe that in just two short months we will be celebrating your first year in reign. It makes me happy and sad all at the same time. My love for you grows more and more every single day, but I'm not the only one in that boat. You have got the entire world wrapped around your little finger. Even complete strangers fall madly in love with you at first sight.
You have changed so much from that tiny newborn we brought home from the hospital. I'm constantly amazed at all you are learning and doing. I wish I could freeze time and spend years with you and your brother at these stages because I know it's going to go way too fast. I feel like I'm going to blink and you'll both be grown.
Again, there's so much going on that I'll have to just list it
~ You love your big brother so much. If he's around, you are after him. If he has it, you want to know what it is because you are pretty sure you want it to. You love to tackle him when he's laying on the floor and he lets you do just about anything you want. If you're sad, he can almost always make you happy again. Your love for him is returned 100%. You are the first thing he asks about every morning and he won't go to bed without kissing you goodnight.
~ You are very affectionate and loving. You like to be down exploring, but you like to get your lovin' in too. It's not unusual for you to be playing and then decide you need a few minutes of love before getting back to playing. You have started giving open mouth kisses too, but so far I think I'm the main one on the receiving end. Your great-grandpa says you are the most affectionate out of all the grandkids (I hate to admit it, but I think you're his favorite too so he's really biased).
~ You are a Mommy's girl! If I'm out of your sight everything is fine, but if you see me you immediately want me. I'm okay with that and I hate the thought of leaving you when I have to go back to work next Tuesday. It absolutely kills me to think about it!
~ (knock on wood) You are sleeping through the night for the most part. You may fuss a little somewhere in the night, but you are getting much better at putting yourself back to sleep on your own. Yay for you!!! Of course more sleep at night means less nap tome during the day... ouch!
~ People are constantly stopping us to comment on your blond hair and blue eyes. It is crazy!! Your hair is starting to get just a little bit of curl to it at the bottom too, which just adds to your cuteness factor. We are in so much trouble when you're older. Daddy has already decided to get a shirt that reads, "I'm not afraid to go back to jail" and to where it when your dates come over (no, he's never been in jail).
~ You could care less about 90% of the baby food we try to feed you. You think you are a big girl and should eat what we are eating. You scream if we don't give it to you, so most of the time we just automatically fix some up for you too. You LOVE mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and bread of any sort. I think you are going to be a carb addict like your mommy.
~ You adore Molly and the cats. Or you adore Molly and like to torture the cats. Not really sure which it is. Fortunately they all put up with your rough loving really well!!
~ You take baths in the big bathtub now and love it! You splash and crawl all around. Then it's up, down, up, down, up, down... you get the picture. Scares me to death because it's so slippery.
~ You cruise the furniture and anything else you can hold on to like a walk in the park. Please don't take your first steps while I'm at work (if you do, I told Nana they don't count and to not tell me)!
I'm sure there's so much more I'm missing. You're little personality is just coming through and we are so blessed to have you. I think Uncle Kracker says it best:
You're better than the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler than the flip side
of my pillow, that's right
Nothing can compare to where
You send me, let's me know that it's okay
Yeah, it's okay
And the moments when my good times start to fade
You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed
Sing like a bird, dizzy in my head
Spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile
Even when you're gone,
Somehow you come along just like
A flower pokin' through the sidewalk crack
And just like that
You steal away the rain, and just like that
You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed
Sing like a bird, dizzy in my head
Spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile
'Cause every time that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Sing like a bird, dizzy in my head
Spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, You make me smile!
Oh, You make me smile!
Thank you God for our sweet baby girl and thank you Emery for making our lives so full!! We love you!
~ Mommy

A Little Princess had her 9 month pics taken!
Before it got too hot here Monday morning we met with Peggy to get Princess Emery's 9 month portraits done. She did great and was her normal little hammy self. I even snapped a few with my camera, however, when I put my card into the computer they were gone. I have no clue what happened. :o( I know they were there because I looked at them when I stopped to get a drink, but now they are nowhere to be found. This means I lost all her pics and the pics I had taken of Chase. Blech!
I decided to take the Princess out front a snap a few more and then took a couple of still shots of the flip.video I had done since my others were gone. I can't wait to see Peggy's because I know they will be great, but until then, here's a sneak peak at our 9 month old Princess!
Isn't she just so cute you could eat her up? I know I could!!! Man I LOVE this little girl!

I am in love with the new look and want to send a huge shout-out to Leslie at Sweetie Baby's Custom Blog Design, you rock girl! Still a few little changes coming, but this is the big part.
