Sweet Princess Emery,
You are 16 weeks old today and I still can't believe you've been with us that long! It seemed like we waited and waited for your arrival and now that is just a distant, beautiful memory.
You seem to be changing so much, getting bigger, stronger, and much more independent. You do not like to lay down anymore, you want to sit up and see the world around you. I think if you had it your way, you'd be right in the middle of the action! You are intrigued by your big brother and love to just watch him. I have no doubt that in just a few short months you'll be driving him nuts!
Your giggles are precious and we spend a lot of time trying to get them out of you. They are like a coveted prize that everyone is after! Your smile is contagious and your big, chubby cheeks adorable. That is definitely a trait that you and Chase both got from Daddy.
Your sleep has been better again and you are waking up once at night. Except for last night, it was pretty much awful, but we don't get into that! I'm just hoping tonight will be better!
Of course nothing is perfect, but we have certainly settled into a life as a family of four pretty good in my book. We have our moments, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!
I love you Princess,
Mommy

One year ago today...
I had the egg retrieval that ended up giving us our perfect little Princess, Emery. A year can bring so many changes and I can't think of a better to have had. Thank you Lord for working through our doctors, giving us the science that enabled all of this, and adding this little blessing to our family... we are forever grateful!

I sure love that boy...

I need to get Chase to sit still for five seconds so I can get some new pics, but lets face it, at almost five he would pretty much rather do anything than sit still for pictures! Since I don't have a pic from the last few days, I'll give a blast from the past pic. Now everyone at once... awwww, he's so stinkin' cute! Yes, yes he is. Now on to the bragging.
Chase has always been a sweet, well behaved child, but these last few months he has just amazed me with how well he has adjusted to his little sister. I'm also amazed at just how much he loves her. I am so very lucky, words just don't even do it justice.
Not only is he sweet to Emery, he is very sweet to his Daddy and I. Just last night he curled up beside me, gave me a huge hug, and said, "Momma, I'm never gonna let you go." Now seriously, could he be any sweeter?
Then, the other night he told me, "I'm never going to grow up, or at least it will take a very long time." Oh Chase, I hope it takes a long time because right now you are growing up way too fast!
He's also pretty funny and all boy. Earlier when we got in the car he said, "Excuse me, I just can't stop farting, I think I"m full of gas." Now what Mom wouldn't laugh at that? I love having a boy, I really, really do. I would not trade this kid for anything!
Everyday I think of how long it took us to get to this point in our lives and how many times I wondered if we'd ever be here. Had I only known how worth the wait it would be, I would have handled it so much easier. These two truly were worth the wait.
***I am grateful for
1) the joys of boys
2) The Pink Bulldog is getting closer to being launched!
3) things that are worth the wait
4) weekend is a day closer
5) I'm about to go to bed and I do LOVE bed!

Princess Emery is 15 weeks old! (Plus 3 month photos!)

Princess Emery,
Today you are 15 weeks old! My how our lives have changed in the last 15 weeks, all for the better!!! You have started to giggle and are smiling at us a lot... it never gets old. Your big brother will spend quite a bit of time entertaining you to get those smiles and it's really cute. Speaking of your big brother, I was listening to him in the car last night and overheard him say this to you, "Emery, I don't want you grow up, I want you to stay little. I love you just like this." Now how sweet is that? You are such a lucky little girl to have a big brother that loves you so much! He then went on to tell me, "I am so glad we had a baby!" Me too, sweet boy, me too!!!
Yesterday we also had your three month photo shoot. One day I'll be able to afford a rockin' camera and do them myself, but until then we have Peggy to do them for us! She always does such a great job and I can never decide which one I like best! You are so photogenic, just like your brother. I have a feeling you'll end up costing us a fortune just like him too!
Still no teeth, but you continue to drool like a madwoman. You have also discovered your hands and when they are not in your mouth, you are quite busy checking them out. I think this evening you might have discovered your feet as well. You still love baths and really get to splashing. It's adorable!
Here's to another fantastic week Princess!
Love,
Mommy

*So, which pictures do you like the best? Emery is being dedicated at church on the 14th and I can't decide which picture to use!!! Like what you see and looking for a local photographer? You can find Peggy here!
****I am grateful for

2) Monday is over!
3) Baby Barrett has arrived safe and sound, congratulations to Brooke and BJ!
4) awesome photos
5) being photogenic... runs in the family!
