What happened?

I was looking through old posts on the blog and I used to be so much better about posting.  I laughed and cried as I read post after post.  So many memories, good, bad, funny, sad.  What has happened to me?  I have got to get better about journaling and posting, even if it's just for my benefit.  *Mental Note - even when busy, make time to write down your memories.... they fade so fast!*

***I am grateful for

3) tears of joy
4) tears of sorrow, they remind us to be thankful

Mental Sticky Notes

A quick mental sticky (because I know all too soon that I'll forget)

~ Chase and Emery love each other dearly.  At night, she will call for "Prince Charming" to come give her a goodnight kiss.  I think Chase secretly loves this, although he denies it with a passion!

~ When Emery doesn't like something, she said, "I don't love that!"  For example, she woke up very sick the other night throwing up.  Afterwards she told me, "I don't love throwing up!"  I know all too soon, she'll change to I don't like that and it won't be as cute.

~ Chase wanted to know if Princess Tiana designed the rooms at the Port Orleans - French Quarter.  I thought that was so sweet.

~ Emery is so ready to go to school and asks almost daily.  I'm going to remind her of this when she is older and doesn't want to get out of bed in the mornings!

****I am grateful for
1) little things that make you smile
2) brothers and sisters
3) nighttime kisses
4) Prince Charmings

Mental Sticky - Emery's 3 year stats

Emery had her 3 year check-up and she was 36 inches and 31.6 pounds.  A perfect little princess. :o)  Well, other than the ear infection we are still fighting.  Back to the ENT on Monday, thinking she may have to have IV antibiotics.  Send prayers!

****I am grateful for
1) perfection, thank you Lord for the perfect baby girl
2) the chance to be her Mommy
3) love
4) family
5) friends

Mental Sticky Notes

I am so behind. I'm a horrible blogger lately, but in my defense we have had some serious computer issues. So, I'm going to have to just play catchup so I don't forget things

~ Emery now has 14 teeth, half as many as an adult. Crazy. Her first dentist appointment is with Chase's in June. We'll see how that goes.
~ Chase is now a double red stripe in karate. His next belt is a black belt and after that he is asking to move up to the traditional class. He did a double nun chuck form in testing on Saturday and did great.
~ Emery is talking like crazy. I don't know if I think this just because I'm her Mommy, but good Lord that girl has a HUGE vocabulary.
~ Chase had kindergarten graduation pictures done today and I just happened to be in the area when they were being done. Seeing him in that cap and gown made a lump in my throat. I can't believe my baby is going to be graduating from kindergarten.
~ Emery has started giving out random hugs. Love it.
~ Chase hit his first home run during a t ball game last night, off a pitch (not the tee). It.was.awesome!
~ Emery's hair has gotten long enough that we can put it in full piggies on the lower back of her head. Cutest thing ever!
~ Chase is not liking the Spanish thing at school and it is a struggle. He is doing great in the English part and absolutely loves math. I'm glad he loves math, it was never my subject and I really struggled with it.
~ Someone asked me today how old Emery was (people always say how small she is, but she's average) and it dawned on me that's she's closer to 2 than she is 1 now. *sniff sniff*
~ I think Chase is ready for summer. So am I.
~ Emery is trying to make fish lips, it's pretty cute. She can't do it, but oh how she tries.

I know there is a ton more to post. I have a million adorable pictures on my phone and am trying to figure out how to mobile post, but it's yet to happen. Right it's a major pain to get them posted because I have to email them, save, then upload them. One or two is fine, but if you have more than that it's so time consuming. Here's one though from this last weekend and one from tonight... I so love these two!

They are dirty, but having so much fun at a party we went to!

Cuddling while they watch a movie, makes my heart smile!

****I am grateful for
1) Disney is paid in full and less than 40 days away
2) one less terrorist in the world (now I pray for our country and troops)
3) 21 days of school left
4) state testing is over, now we wait for results (three weeks, may they speed by)

5) the beautiful weather we had this afternoon

Mental Sticky Notes

Chase
~ You are the most awesome big brother. If Emery cries, you immediately try to soothe her and are very concerned (not that she cries often). It's adorable and wonderful to watch.

~ We put Emery in the swing for the first time and you were terrified that it was going too fast and would not stop telling us. It was on the slowest setting! ;o)

~ You have become very brave and big, I look at you and you seem to have grown by a foot just in the last week. Maybe because you are so big compared to your little sister. However, you are still my first baby and always will be.

~ The other night you slipped while getting off our bed and hit your elbow, hard, on the pack-n-play. Normally we would have seen some tears but Emery was asleep on the bed and you did not want to wake her so you simply walked over to me, looked at me w/those big, blue eyes, and I could tell you were hurting. I kissed it and a vitamin made it much better. It was very brave and big.

~ You absolutely LOVE Star Wars and playing w/them. You are your father made over.

~ You are doing great in school. Most days you are happy to go, unless you are tired. Then it's not quite as exciting to have to be up and moving.

~ You are not really a morning person at all, but neither am I.

~ You are a very good little boy and always amaze me at how well behaved you are. Don't get me wrong, we have our moments like any typical four year old, but 95% of the time, you are rockin' it!

Emery

~ You are already changing just since we met you a week and a half ago. You are an excellent baby and rarely ever cry. The only times you get upset are if you are hungry and we aren't feeding you fast enough or if you want to be held. We are more than happy to accommodate you on either.

~ When you are taking a bottle you make a little sound with each suck, it's very cute. Almost like you are letting us know that this is making your little tummy nice and full.

~ Everyone comments on your blond hair... everyone! In fact, the first comment is always about how pretty you are and the second comment is always about your blond locks.

~ I know it's just gas that makes you smile right now, but it's so stinkin' cute!

~ I love to cuddle with you at night, you are a definitely cuddle bug.

~ You remind me so much of your brother, there are certain things you do and ways you look that I swear ya'll could be the same baby!

~ You always have your hands by your face, just like you did in your ultrasounds. Always.

I love you both more than words could ever say.

~Mommy

****I am grateful for
1) Chase is adapting to his baby sister so well!
2) Emery is a GREAT baby!
3) Emery is still nursing some, beats none at all!
4) Tomorrow is Friday!
5) My family, how did I get so darn lucky?

Mental Sticky

~ You are all boy and I love it! You think "power-poots" are hilarious and love to run around in your underpants. You are even happier if Daddy will join you and run around in his too.

~ Yesterday you and Duchess were going to play air hockey. You got the most serious look on your face and promptly informed her, "I will destroy you!" Then you laughed an evil laugh each time you scored. It was hilarious. I'm thinking you might be a tad bit competitive.

~ You love your BB (blanket) and ask for it the moment you are upset or tired. I'm wondering if we'll be sending it to high school with you?

~ You help give me my "shot" every evening by holding my hand and telling me, "It's OK Mommy... does it hurt?" It's very sweet. Then you almost immediately ask if you can see it bleeding. That may not be quite as sweet.

~ You got your four year shots last Friday and it was pretty awful. Daddy took you and said it was horrible to see you go through it because you were so upset. It took three people to hold you down and when the nurse offered you candy when it was over you told her, "You brought your own candy." I think you were basically telling her to bug off in your own little way.

~ You love the Wii, especially bowling. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that you have beaten me on more than one occasion which can be a tad frustrating since you spin circles before throwing the ball and I actually try. Perhaps I should spin a circle or two.

~ We have not told you that there's a baby in my tummy, but lots of people have come up to you
and asked if you are going to have a baby brother or sister (even after we tell them that we have NOT told you about it... drives me nuts). Daddy also freaks if you get to rough around my belly. You are pretty smart though and I think you have figured it out. When you said, "my mommy is having a baby for me" to our neighbor is was a dead give-away.

Boy do we love you!!!

Mommy

Mental Sticky Note

~ I love when we are walking and Chase grabs my hand with his tiny fingers. He has the softest hands.

~ Chase did NOT like baby food peas at all and would wrinkle his nose in disgust every time we tried to feed them to him. However, he loves peas now and refers to them as, "little fellas." Neither I or his father care for them so I'm not sure where this love for them developed!

~ Chocolate milk is probably Chase's most favorite thing in the world. I think he could live on it alone if he ever had to.

~ Chase refers to Lit.tle Deb.bie Sw.iss Cake Rolls as "Squish Cake Rolls." Cracks me up every time.

**I am grateful for

Mental Sticky Note

Sometimes Chase does something that I never want to forget, but with time I know I will. I hate that. I hate that as the days go by my memories will slip away because life is so busy and full that I simply can't remember it all no matter how much I want to! So I've decided to start a new category to help me remember all these wonderful little things. Today will be my first mental sticky note. Here goes nothing.

~ When Chase is telling us to "shhhhh" he puts the tip of his finger on his nose instead of putting it over his lips. It's adorable and I will ask him to "shhhhh" me over and over again just to see it!

~ Chase loves to play with my hair by curling it around his finger. My Granny Kahla (hmmm, recognize a name there) used to twist her hair and I do it to. Must be hereditary.

~ You would always know when Chase was getting sleepy as a baby because he would play with his eyelashes (that boy has got some LONG lashes). Every once in a while he still does it. It's a dead give-away that the Sandman is on his way.

~ We used to say that Chase would suck on a pretend bottle in his sleep because he was always making the sucking sound and doing his lips like he was drinking from a bottle. He weaned at 1 year 2 months, but he still does this at night sometimes.

~ Chase can have an entire conversation in his sleep, but then again so can his Daddy!

~ When we are at SeaWorld MeMaw told Chase she wanted to ride the coaster with him because she was scared. He told her not to be scared, "he would keep her safe." He is such a sweet, caring little boy.

These are the kinds of things that I always want to remember!

**I am grateful for
1) 2 school days left until Christmas break (come on, you knew that was coming)
2) our Christmas tree
3) 2 weeks vacation to spend w/Chase!
4) we may have meds for our upcoming IVF donated to us, what a blessing that would be!
5) all the sweet things my Chase does
